"The Arnold's of Owen County"    Telly and Videographer Award Winner!
"The Arnolds of Owen County" tells the story of the Arnold Family coming to Northern Kentucky around 1790.   Jim Powell, descendant from Thomas Arnold gives you a tour of the original log cabin which was built by Thomas and his brother John.   The cabin still in prime shape shows the White Poplar beams as though they were recently cut from the farm.  The cheeking or filling between the logs has was made of hog's hare and mud.  This 30 minute video tours the cabin starting from John Arnold's grave which is located about 75 feet from the structure, continues into the first floor of the cabin and follows into the loft.
The video program also tells the history of the Arnolds through the stories of the late Jerry Arnold another descendant and third cousin of Jim's.  Known as a proficient storyteller throughout Kentucky, Jerry was considered one of the best at telling accurate history as well as spinning a good yarn.  Jerry passed away soon after the program was completed.
